Tawnya Kiernan MD FAAP

Dr. Tawnya Kiernan is a board certified pediatrician who has been with Rainbow Pediatrics since 2004. She is a graduate of the University of Vermont Medical School and completed a residency in Pediatrics in Toledo, Ohio. She has special interests in early childhood development and obesity.  Dr. Tawnya is an extraordinary gardener and she and her husband, Dr. Michael Kiernan are very involved in the Middlebury arts community.

Lauren Young MS, FNP-BC, RN

Lauren Young is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner who joined Rainbow Pediatrics in 2010.  She earned her MS in Nursing in November of 2010. Prior to that, she worked as an RN at the Community Health Services of Addison County/Open Door Clinic as a case manager and care coordinator for underserved and uninsured populations in Addison County.  Before she became a nurse, Lauren was a preschool teacher and early childhood educator at the University fo Vermont where she earned her BS in Early Childhood Education. She draws heavily on these experiences to support and to work with families at Rainbow Pediatrics. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys knitting, reading with her book club, and working on her yard and house with her husband, and daughters. 

Angela

Angela Brisson DNP, FNP-C

Angela is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner.  She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Vermont in May 2021.  Some of you may recognize this Addison County native or remember her from time spent as an RN working in our office.  We are thrilled that Angela has chosen to stay at Rainbow Pediatrics and continue will continue to care for our patients.

Kaitlin Rheaume, RN-BSN

Kaitlin joined Rainbow at the end of 2021, as the Pediatric Care Coordinator. She became a nurse in 2011 and has a comprehensive background in providing care for families, through childbirth education, labor support & postpartum care.  She is excited to coordinate support and services for the peditaric population throughout their pedatric and adolscent lifespan.  Kaitlin enjoys spending time homesteading with her husband and growing children.  She and her family enjoy opportunities that each season brings:  camping, hiking, swimming, harvesting fruit, skating, cross country skiing - and so much more!

Tammy Baker RN

Tammy joined Rainbow Pediatrics in 2009.  She is an avid gardner and shares her bounty with us every summer and Fall.  She spends her free time with her grandchildren, and keeping her chickens from digging up her gardens.

Lisa Ryan Office Manager

Lisa has been the Office Manager at Rainbow since 1999. She wears many hats and  keeps everything running smoothly.  She has two grown children. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Carlie Barnum

Carlie is a MA and is the newest member of our Rainbow family.  She has worked in the healthcare field for 6 years.  In her free time, she enjoys camping, cooking, hiking, and spending time with her 3 nieces.

Lynn

Lynn Paquette Receptionist

Lynn works in reception and is the newest member of the Rainbow family and a welcome addition!  When not working, she enjoy spending time with her adult children and granddaughters.  She also enjoys gardening, kayaking, hiking and working on projects with her husband.

Karen

Karan Herrmann Receptionist

Karen has retired from a long career working with volunteers at UVM Porter Healthcare. While she was hired at Rainbow in a per diem position, she has become our go to person for the “Veggie Van Gough” monthly food program. She enjoys spending time with her 2 pups, family & friends. Things that make her happy are walking, knitting, reading, and the ocean!

Samantha DeGennaro Reception

Samantha keeps us all organized in the reception area!  She is delightful to work with and has brought many new ideas to improve front workflow! In her time off, Sam enjoys long walks, playing board games, reading books, and spending time with her children, family and friends.
